Pierre Magnol est graphiste et réalisateur d’animation au sein du studio Gkaster.com qu’il a fondé avec Pierre Fabre. Les films de science-fiction de son enfance, puis les créations animées de Gmunk et l'explosion de la création graphique sur le net lui ont inspiré sa vocation. Au cours de cet entretien, il évoque son expérience dans le graphisme animé, réalisations récentes à l'appui.

Pierre Magnol a un parcours "pluridisciplinaire". D'abord monteur de documentaire et de news chez Canal plus, puis monteur-truquiste et chef de projets multimédias chez Ultime à Limoges, où il découvre le graphisme animé. Implanté en Limousin, il exerce son activité de graphiste d'animation sous le nom de Bright Photon et collabore aussi bien à des oeuvres purement artistiques comme des courts métrages ou des mises en scènes contemporaines que dans le domaine du "corporate" en réalisant des bandes annonces publicitaires en image de synthèse.

Malgré tout, on a du mal à saisir ce que font spécifiquement les intervenants. Est-ce que Pierre Magnol fait de la 3D, du compositing (dans quelle mesure sachant qu'il y a beaucoup de 3D), du matte painting, ou bien ? Quelles peuvent être les répartitions de tâches ? Une question que je me pose à chaque fois qu'une seule personne est nommée pour des réalisations qui paraissent très compliquées.
Çà fait du bien de mettre des visages sur des grands noms de studios et de comprendre leurs approche et leur processus de créa.
