Interview with Florian Schmitt Hi-ReS! Creative Director
About this movie
Florian Schimtt, Creative Director at Hi-ReS! talks about his unique and narrative approach of interactive design. Tell stories, transmit emotions, give a shifted point of view on common things... to make you forget you're in front of a computer screen.
About Florian Schmitt and Hi-ReS!
With a background of musician and product designer, Florian Schmitt started web design at the end of the 90's, with his wife Alexandra Jugovic. They founded the studio Hi-ReS! in 1999, in London.
Thanks to the unexpected success of the experimental website soulbath.com, they were contacted to create a website for the movie "Requiem For A Dream". They gave birth to an unclassifiable piece, sort of an hallucinated trip, matching perfectly with the narrative of the movie. This was a milestone in the history of web design and confirmed the duo's unique touch.
Hi-ReS! is now a multimedia studio, dealing with graphic design, interactive design and videos. The studio's clients are amongst the most famous commercial brands and it received many awards for its surprising and singular productions.
Along with Andreas Müller, Florian Schmitt founded Nanikawa, a studio focusing on new technologies and interactive installation works.
